I have a tricky work situation

I have a dilemma. Some important background:

I work for a very large, well-known company. Our office is very conservative. We have a strict dress code. We have numerous sexual harassment and other sensitivity training seminars every year. It is even forbidden to discuss politics at work because of the possibility that someone might be “offended”. A guy was fired a couple years back for emailing a sexually-explicit joke to another male co-worker, but a woman happened to see it on the guy’s monitor.

I have a female co-worker (I am male) who I am friendly with, but I am not friends with her, like I don’t ever see her outside of work. Last night I was browsing a well-known porn video site on the internet, and I saw an amateur video with this co-worker in it (not only did it look exactly like her, without a doubt, but she has a birthmark or some kind of skin discoloration on her neck and it was clearly visible in the video). But the way the video was recorded, I’m 99% sure she didn’t know she was being recorded. I suppose it’s possible she did, but I am assuming for now she didn’t know about the recording.

Anyway, I want to tell her about this because if she didn’t give her permission to be recorded, she may want to take steps to (a) get the video removed and/or (b) take legal action against the guy who filmed it. Thing is, I have no idea how to bring this up without starting a s--tstorm at work. Plus it’s kind of embarrassing how I even know about it in the first place. But more importantly, how do I start discussing a porn video here without getting in trouble?

Has this happened to anyone? Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

"And...post the link."

Obviously I cannot access the site here at work, but I'll try to find it again and post it when I get home.

Resist the urge to open that can of worms. Resist!

And...post the link.

Just keep quiet and fap to it in private. Best not to get involved beyond that.

 astrnomrQuote      2010-02-19 08:48:22

DO NOT, under any circumstances, confront her directly. If you think she needs to know, find a way to leave an anonymous tip.

Oh, and post the link here so we can verify for ourselves if she was aware of the videocamera.

Whamdangler: And...post the link.

Yes. We would appreciate it.

The short answer is that there's no truly "safe" way to discuss porn with your work-only pal.

More importantly, 99% sure isn't enough. You need to watch it...repeatedly and with zoom at 2X to make sure. If you're 100% sure, you still might not want to bring it up. If you were a close, personal friend, there'd be no question; the fact that you're only friendly at work...well, you already sound like you don't want to risk your job for this. There's no casual way to bring this up with her, you sure as heck can't send her the link. There's also the possibility that what you thought was her being secretly taped was an exhibitionist thrill for her, a fantasy of being seen-without-knowing.

In conclusion: Fap but close your trap.

Agreed. As Confucius (or was it Nipsey Russell?) said:
Fap to her smut with your trap staying shut.

Step one: Create throwaway email account
Step two: Send anonymous email
Step three: Profit by not losing your job/humiliating someone

Telling her to her face makes it seem like you want to witness the drama. If you really want to help her out, spare her the embarrassment of knowing that a dude at work saw her in a compromising position.

 SorthumQuote      2010-02-19 10:23:40

Use hushmail.com or similar if you're going to do an anonymous email; anything else is a bit too trackable.

Realize this, though-- her presence on this site is either something she knows about, or doesn't. If the former, no problem, why embarrass her further? If the latter, well-- ignorance is bliss.

It's not your place. Just fap to it and enjoy.

this....

 killmenowQuote      2010-02-19 17:12:53

leave her a sticky note (the post-it kind) with the url. use gloves when you do this. mail it to her even

 Nescio quid dicasQuote      2010-02-20 01:06:07

email the link from an anonymous email account to her.

 kmaaptpsQuote      2010-02-20 09:54:29

I like the idea of emailing her anonymously, but you shouldn't even email it to her at work - if it gets picked up by some filter, and one of the IT overlords looks at the link, you could be jeopardizing her job.
